art thou not God in heaven?

From: Sophereth at Kirjath Sepher

To: those that SEEK Him

. I want to show you a word today, with two definitions.

. The word is SEEK. Strongs Concordance #’s 1245, and 1875.

. Deut. 4:29a …if from thence thou shalt SEEK the Lord thy God, thou shalt find Him…#1245.

. Deut. 4:29b …if thou SEEK Him with all thy heart and with all thy soul…#1875.

. 1Chronicles 16:10 …let the heart of them rejoice that SEEK the Lord. #1245.

. 1 Chronicles 16:11a …SEEK the Lord and His strength. #1875.

. 1Chronicles 16:11b…SEEK His face continually. #1245.

. 1 Chronicles 22:19. now set your heart and your soul to SEEK the Lord your God…#1875.

. 1Chronicles 28:9. …if thou SEEK Him, He will be found of thee… #1875.

. 2Chronicles 7:14. …if My people, which are called by My name, shall…SEEK My face, and turn from….#1245.

. 2Chronicles 19:3. …prepared thine heart to SEEK God…#1875.

. 2Chronicles 20:3. And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to SEEK the Lord. #1875.

. 2Chronicles 20:4 even out of all the cities of Judah they came to SEEK the Lord. #1245.

. (there are hundreds of these scriptures, with the word SEEK, but I’ve written just these 10.)

. #1245. baqash. to search out (by any method, spec. in WORSHIP or prayer)

. #1875. darash. to tread or frequent (I believe this is when we tread or frequent His courts, to stand before Him, to worship Him) usu. to follow (for pursuit or search; by impl. to seek or ask, spec. to WORSHIP)

. (both of these, 1245, and 1875,are partial from the Strongs, but it makes my point.)

. Psalms 27:4. ONE THING have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD all the days of my life, To BEHOLD THE BEAUTY OF THE LORD (WORSHIP), and to INQUIRE (SEEK HIM), in His temple.

. 2Chronicles 20. Jehoshaphat and all of Judah set themselves and came to SEEK the Lord. This is what they said: Art thou not God in heaven? rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee? art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend forever?…..O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but OUR EYES ARE UPON THEE. And all Judah STOOD BEFORE THE LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.

. THEN the Word of the Lord came with direction. Then Jehoshaphat BOWED HIS HEAD with his FACE TO THE GROUND: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem FELL BEFORE THE LORD, WORSHIPPING the Lord.

. they were in trouble. they came to SEEK the Lord. how did they SEEK the Lord? what did they do? what did they say? ART THOU NOT GOD? RULEST THOU NOT? IN THINE HAND IS THERE NOT POWER AND MIGHT? ART THOU NOT OUR GOD? DID YOU NOT DRIVE OUT THE FORMER INHABITANTS OF THIS LAND FOR YOUR PEOPLE, ISRAEL?  WILT THOU NOT JUDGE THEM? OUR EYES ARE UPON THEE! WE STAND BEFORE THEE!

. they put Him in remembrance of WHO HE IS! they put Him in remembrance of WHAT HE HAD DONE! they put Him in remembrance of His ABSOLUTE RULERSHIP! His STRENGTH! His POWER, His MIGHT! they PUT THEIR EYES ON HIM and KEPT THEIR EYES UPON HIM! Then, THEY STOOD BEFORE HIM! THEY KEPT STANDING! all of them. with their little ones. their wives. their children. as He then began to speak, they FELL BEFORE HIM, STILL WORSHIPPING HIM!!!!!

. do you see? to SEEK HIM is to WORSHIP HIM!

. to TELL HIM that He is everything that He said He is, is to WORSHIP Him!

. to put our eyes on Him and keep our eyes on Him, is to WORSHIP Him!

. to STAND BEFORE HIM. to KEEP STANDING BEFORE HIM. with OUR HEADS AND OUR HEARTS AND OUR WILL AND OUR KNEE BOWED is to WORSHIP HIM!
