Ariel. let the feasts run their round…

From: Sophereth at Kirjath Sepher

To: the watchmen

. I picked up my Amplified bible this morning to read Isaiah 28:28. one of my favorite scriptures, telling how bread corn isn’t bruised and threshed forever. (only until it is ready to be made into bread, to feed somebody else).

. after I read that, and was encouraged and strengthened, my eye fell on Isaiah 30, the whole chapter, especially verses 1-7.

. I had especially noticed yesterday that the Lord had spoken the name Ariel as I was writing about the mountain of God, the altar of God. when my eyes fell on the name Ariel again in this chapter, I knew to read it. the name Ariel is also a name for Jerusalem.

. Woe to Ariel (Jerusalem), to Ariel, the city where David encamped! ADD YET ANOTHER YEAR; LET THE FEASTS RUN THEIR ROUND (BUT ONLY ONE YEAR MORE). Then I will distress Ariel; and there shall be mourning and lamentation, yet she shall be to Me like an Ariel (an altar hearth, a hearth of burning, the altar of God). verses 3-5 are terrible. judgement comes to the city of Jerusalem for her sin. for her disobedience to God. the Lord brings the multitude of nations against her. that is beginning to happen now. then: and in an instant, suddenly, verses 6,7: you shall be visited and delivered by the Lord of hosts with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with whirlwind and tempest and the flame of a devouring fire. And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel (Jerusalem), even all that fight against her and her stronghold and that distress her, shall be as a dream, a vision of the night. then it goes on through the rest of the chapter.

. interesting. the end of the age is here. we will go through the next yearly round of God’s feast cycle. we will obey. we will wait. we will watch. we will stay in the will of God ourselves. we will worship.
