…as is Israel’s eternal duty…

From: Sophereth at Kirjath Sepher

To: those who will embrace their eternal duty…

. I am writing this afternoon from the KJV, the Tanakh, and the Amplified.

. 2Chronicles 2:4,5,6. KJV. Behold, I build an house to the name of the Lord my God, to dedicate it to Him, and to burn before Him sweet incense, and for the continual shewbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of the Lord our God. This is an ordinance forever to Israel.

. And the house which I build is great: for great is our God above all gods.

. But who is able to build Him an house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain Him? who am I then, that I should build Him an house, save only to burn sacrifice before Him?

. 2Chronicles 2:4,5,6. Tanakh. (in the Tanakh, those same verses are 3,4,5.) see, I intend to build a House for the name of the Lord my God; I will dedicate it to Him for making incense offering of sweet spices in His honor, for the regular rows of bread, and for the morning and evening burnt offerings on sabbaths, new moons, and festivals, as is Israels eternal duty.

. The House that I intend to build will be great, inasmuch as our God is greater than all gods.

. Who indeed is capable of building a House for Him! Even the heavens to their uttermost reaches cannot contain Him, and who am I that I should build Him a house-except as a place for making burnt offerings to Him?

. 2Chronicles 2:4,5,6. Amplified. Behold, I am about to build a house for the Name of the Lord my God, dedicated to Him for the burning of incense of sweet spices before Him, for the continual showbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, New Moons, and on the solemn feasts of the Lord our God, as ordained forever for Israel.

. The house which I am to build is great, for our God is greater than all gods.

. But who is able to build Him a house, since heaven, even highest heaven, cannot contain Him? Who am I to build Him a house, except as a place to burn incense in worship before Him?

. WHY was His temple built? WHY are you being built up into His temple? into His spiritual house, not made with hands? to worship Him.

. WHERE does this worship take place? within us individually, as His temple. within us corporately, as His temple, when we gather together in His name.

. WHEN does this worship take place? daily. everyday. morning and evening. with the Holy Convocations, the public services when we gather together in His name, being on the Sabbaths. on the new moons. on the solemn feasts of the Lord our God.

. there you have it.

. hundreds and hundreds of scriptures as witnesses.

. the pattern. exactly according to the pattern that God gave Moses in the mount.

. the worship form of God’s house.

. as an ordinance forever to Israel.

. as is Israel’s eternal duty.

. as ordained forever for Israel.
