From: Sophereth at Kirjath Sepher
To: those that worship with stringed instruments.
. Since the post on March 6th, I have been aware of a Word forming in me for, and about, those that worship with stringed instruments.
. I will start writing it today, with just a few scriptures, and see where the Lord takes it.
. Genesis 4:20-23. KJV and Amplified. Adah bore Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents and have cattle….his brother’s name was Jubal; he was the father of all those who handle the harp…. ….Zillah bore Tubal-cain; he was the forger of all cutting instruments of bronze and iron.
. here we have the three original occupations: cattleman. musician. artificer.
. musician is one of the three original occupations. Jubal was the father of the musician. I am writing about the stringed instrument player today.
. Jubal. Strongs Concordance #3106 from 2986. stream. Jubal, an antediluvian-Jubal. 2986. yabal. to flow; caus. to bring (espec. with pomp):- bring (forth), carry, lead (forth) see 3104. yowbel. yobel. from 2986. this is the word for Jubilee!
. The book of Habakkuk (Amplified), was written “For the Chief Musician; with my stringed instruments.” Habakkuk 3:19.
. Habakkuk 3:1 Amplified. A Prayer Of Habakkuk the prophet, set to wild, enthusiastic, and triumphal music.
. the Amplified Bible really has much to say, more than the KJV, in the heading of the Psalms. i.e. Psalm 7: “An Ode of David, (probably) in a wild, irregular, enthusiastic strain, which he sang to the Lord concerning the words of Cush, a Benjamite.”
. Psalm 4,6,54,55,61,67,78, were written: To the Chief Musician on Neginoth.
. Neginoth. Strongs Concordance #5058,5059. negiynath; from 5059. instrumental music. by impl. a stringed instrument; by extens. a poem set to music. spec. an epigram-stringed instrument, musick, Neginoth (plur.) song. 5059. to thrum i.e. to beat a tune with the fingers; espec. to play on a stringed instrument; hence , to make music- player on instruments, sing to the stringed instruments, melody, minstrel, play (-er, -ing).
. 2Kings 3:11-16. but Jehoshaphat said, Is there no prophet of the Lord here by whom we may inquire of the Lord? One of the king of Israel’s servants answered, Elisha son of Shaphat, who served Elijah, is here. Jehoshaphat said, The word of the Lord is with him….so they went down to Elisha….and Elisha said….now bring me a minstrel. And while the minstrel played, the hand and power of the Lord came upon Elisha…and he said, Thus says the Lord….
. a prophet, even the caliber of Elisha, called on a minstrel, for the word of the Lord to come through.
. 1Chronicles 25:1,3. KJV and Amplified. Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psaltries, and with cymbals….of the sons of Jeduthun….six in all, under the direction of their father Jeduthun, who witnessed and prophesied under divine inspiration with the lyre in thanksgiving and praise to the Lord.
. we see in 1Chronicles 25, whole families of sons who prophesied with the stringed instrument.
. 1Samuel 16:14-17 KJV and Amplified. but the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord tormented and troubled him. Saul’s servants said to him, Behold, an evil spirit from God torments you. Let our lord now command your servants here before you to find a man who plays skillfully on the lyre (harp); and when the evil spirit from God is upon you, he will play it, and you will be well. Saul told his servants, Find me a man who plays well and bring him to me. One of the young men said, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite who plays skillfully…..and the Lord is with him. So Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said, Send me David your son….and when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, David took a lyre and played it; so Saul was refreshed and became well, and the evil spirit left him.
. here we see the playing of the stringed instrument by the man that the Lord is with, has power over demons.
. Isaiah 30:30-33 KJV and Amplified. ….and the Lord shall cause His glorious voice to be heard and the descending blow of His arm to be seen, coming down with indignant anger and with the flame of a devouring fire amid crashing blast and cloudburst, tempest, and hailstones. at the voice of the Lord the Assyrians will be stricken with dismay and terror, when He strikes them with His rod. and every passing stroke of the staff of punishment and doom which the Lord lays upon them shall be to the sound of Israels timbrels and lyres, and in battles of shaking will He fight with it.
. here we see the Lord Himself fighting His battles to the sound of Israel’s timbrels and stringed instruments.
. the anointed, prophetic minstrel will clear the spiritual atmosphere. so the Word of the Lord can come through in this last day.
. the anointed, prophetic minstrel, will prophesy by the Spirit of God on his instrument. he will prophesy of things to come in this last day.
. the anointed, prophetic minstrel, will cause endtime demonic spirits to flee from us in this last day.
. remember the pattern in the book of Revelation. I’ve spoken of it many times. this is the pattern: worship. judgement. worship for that righteous judgement.
. God Himself does the battle. we don’t need to fight. the battle is not ours. the battle is the Lord’s. stand still and praise Him. stand still and worship Him. see what He will do. He will come down in the end day to do battle. He will cause His enemies to be stricken with dismay and terror. every passing stroke of punishment and judgement that He lays on His enemies, in the end day, He will do so, to the anointed, prophetic sound, of the playing, and praising, and worshiping, of His endtime worshipers. His endtime praisers. His endtime minstrels, His Chief Musicians, leading His people in great, endtime shouts of singing and Victory.
. begin now. with a new faith and hope and resolve. if you have a stringed instrument, a guitar, a piano, a harp, etc., begin to play it. clear the spiritual atmosphere. begin to prophesy the word of the Lord on it. begin to sing the psalms with it. play wild, enthusiastic, triumphal music to the Lord God of heaven and earth! like David did! Step into the anointing of the Chief Musician! Praise Him with that anointing! Worship Him with that anointing!
. you might say: “I don’t play a stringed musical instrument.” guess what! you have the stringed instrument of your vocal chords! use them!
