Havdalah. distinction. Paul. preached until midnight?

From: Sophereth at Kirjath Sepher

To: the Israel of God.

. Acts 20:7-12. and upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. and there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together. and there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead. and Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him. when he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed. and they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.

. the upper room, the upper chamber, the third story room, was where the feasts were kept. Matt. 23:6. Mk. 12:39. Lu. 11:43. Mk. 14:15. Lu. 22:12. Acts 1:13. Acts 20:8. Mk. 14:12-17.

. these people written about here were Jews. they kept the feasts, the Sabbaths.

. when you ‘remember and keep’ the Sabbaths, you ‘remember and keep’ when they start. you ‘remember and keep’ when they end.

. in the NT, the disciples followed Jesus on the Sabbath day, as He did good, healing all those that were oppressed by the devil.

. after Yeshua ascended, they did the same thing. they ministered to the people on the Sabbath day.

. in new testament times, because they kept the Sabbath, they also kept Havdalah. they gathered together to break bread. a simple service of a meal, breaking of bread, wine, prayer, was kept right at the end of the Sabbath. it makes the distinction between the Sabbath and the 6 day work week. the distinction between sanctity and secularity. the day changes at this simple meal, as the sun goes down. the day goes from the 7th day of the week to the first day of the week. at Havdalah.

. Paul did not preach from 9:30 AM sun day school, 10:30 AM sun day service, until midnight.

. Paul did not break bread and eat and talk a long while, even till the break of day, from 9:30 AM sun day school, 10:30 AM sun day service.

. Paul preached from about sundown, at Havdalah, which after then, became the first day of the week, until midnight.

. the gathering of the congregation was, and has always been, on the Sabbath day, including Havdalah.

. there is no recorded instance in the NT where a service was started and held by believers on the sun day.

. Acts 16:13. Amplified. and on the Sabbath day we went outside the (city’s) gate to the brink of the river where we supposed was an accustomed place of prayer, and we sat down and addressed the women who had assembled there.

. if you are serious about being in God’s will about this, please look up the word Sabbath, in your Strongs, and see, in the NT, all the things that were done on this day. too many to list here.

  1. It is interesting to note that nowhere, nowhere in scripture, is there ever one who was considered to be holy that kept anything but Saturday, either before or after the resurrection. Christ kept Saturday in both His life and His death in that He rested that day and rose in the even between Sabbath and Sunday.
Christ built Saturday into creation, why would He not keep that which He created?

      • It’s really interesting. I operate a healing and deliverance ministry on the side. As of late, I keep being reminded that I cannot do anything for churchgoers and Sunday keepers, because of these associations. It’s as if the Spirit is just moving on. Like it is over it. People are feeling the void, but they are having the most difficult time breaking the habit.
It really is a spiritual cage (Revelation 18:1-4) and the only ones that can deliver themselves from it are those that fully trust in Yeshua. It is both awesome and frightening to behold. Bound in bundles to be burned (Matthew 13:30).
The other thing that I am noticing here in regard to rapidity of the current change is how quickly the unchurched, but spiritually abused, can be made whole. It really does remind me of the valley of dry bones. These rise from the spiritual dead locked and loaded.

  2. I have forgotten more than most people know…if my memory serves me, the only god brave enough to superimpose his name over the Sabbath of God is Saturn. who came up over his father and killed him. which is what has tried to be done to the Father God. I have to go look, maybe in the morning…do you have that info available right now?
