To: the priests. the Levites.
To: the chosen generation, the royal priesthood, the holy nation.
To: the untied colt that the Lord hath need of.
To: those that bare Him up on their shoulders.
To: the throne bearers.
To: those called to minister to Him forever.
To: the singers. the musicians.
To: the Cheneniahs. those that carry and lift up, as a gift, the song. with joy.
. 1Chronicles 15. …so the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders (shoulders speak of responsibility) with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the Lord.
. and David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psaltries and harps and cymbals, sounding , by lifting up the voice with joy.
. so the Levites appointed…
. so the singers…were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass; ….with psaltries on Alamoth….with harps on the Sheminith to excel.
. and Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skillful.
. (in my KJV margin it says this:
. was for: or, was for the carriage: he instructed about the carriage.
. song: Heb. lifting up.)
. song. Strongs OT #4853. massa from 5375; a burden; specifically tribute, or porterage. utterance. especially singing. burden, carry away, prophecy, they set, song, tribute. 5375. nasa (this is where the NASA space program got their name). to lift. arise. bear. armourbearer. suffer to bear. bear up. bring up. bring forth. carry. carry away. go on. help. high. hold up, honourable, plus honourable man. 5379. nisse. from 5375. something taken. a present. a gift. (too many more def. to write here in this post. you get the idea of the import of the song with these.)
. and it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.
. and David was clothed with a robe of fine linen (the Lord speaks much of the priests clothing. always the fine linen of righteousness. David was king/priest. a king that wore the ephod), and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song (again the margin says: carriage) with the singers: David also had upon him an ephod of linen.
. thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, and with sound of coronet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psaltries and harps. (even though the priests did the carrying and the leading and the work, it seem here that it was credited to all Israel).
. 1Chronicles 16. So they brought up the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and they offered burnt sacrifices (worship) and peace offerings before God. ….then David blessed the people in the name of the Lord.
. none ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the Lord chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister to Him forever.
. and God Himself helps the Levites. even today. to lift up, to carry, to bear, His Presence. into the nations amidst this battle right now, with singing. with musical instruments. with joy.
. Thank You, our God, our Father. Thank You.
