From: Sophereth at Kirjath Sepher
To: those that will hear the Word of God by the Spirit of God.
. on Jacob’s way back home, he was going to have to confront Esau.
. he was greatly afraid of Esau.
. he was greatly distressed by Esau.
. he dreaded Esau.
. he tried to appease Esau.
. but there came the time that Jacob was left alone.
. nobody but him and God.
. left alone to wrestle with God.
. can you imagine such a thing?
. a mere man?
. left alone to wrestle with God?
. in the wrestling, through the dark night, the hollow of Jacob’s thigh came out of joint.
. it was nearing daybreak then, and the angel of the Lord said: “Let me go.”
. Jacob said: “I will not let you go until you bless me.”
. THEN, when he had made the decision to NOT LET HIM GO…
. the angel THEN said: “What is your name?”
. Jacob, in my own mind’s eye, must have been weary and tired and worn by then.
. his determination to receive the blessing from God was not deterred tho.
. I can see him, aghast, shocked as he said it; as he finally admitted and confessed to God who he really was;
. Jacob. supplanter.
. he admitted and confessed his sin.
. NOW! here comes the blessing!
. “your name will no more be called Jacob.
. but your name is now called Israel!”
. a prince! power with God and with man!
. he had prevailed!
. the blessing was to be called Israel!
. the Israel of God!
. I struggle with human words to be able to say this properly, by the Spirit of God.
. forgive me where I fail to deliver this truth with the understanding that must come…
. before this is over, this same battle between these same brothers will be fought by every individual and every nation.
. individuals and nations, before this is over will come face to face with the Lord God of the whole earth.
. every individual and every nation will choose.
. there are only two types of individuals.
. there are only two types of nations.
. and everybody else.
. and the goyim. the gentiles.
. those of the Spirit.
. those of the flesh.
. Oh! that every individual and every nation would be left alone with God.
. Oh! as the night descends, that every individual and every nation would be given one last chance to wrestle with God until they will never walk the same way again.
. until they will never be afraid of Esau again.
. until they will never be distressed and in dread of Esau again.
. until they will never appease Esau again.
. until their flesh is so crippled and out of joint that they will never walk the same way again.
. until their flesh is so crippled and out of joint, when asked to tell God their name,
. they could cry their true name and character out to Him in recognition and repentance and forgiveness by His blood,
. so at daybreak,
. He can bless them,
. and change their name—
. to Israel.
